Job Description

At CIAVL, we design and deliver cutting-edge audio, video, and lighting systems for a wide range of environments—from houses of worship and theaters to commercial venues and educational facilities. We’re passionate about excellence, innovation, and delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. Now, we’re looking for a dedicated Installation Technician to join our growing team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Installation Technician to handle the onsite setup and integration of professional audio, video, and lighting systems. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, a problem-solving mindset, and is comfortable working in both construction environments and client-facing settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and wire audio, video, and lighting systems based on system designs and drawings
  • Mount and configure AV equipment (projectors, speakers, displays, lighting fixtures, etc.)
  • Pull, terminate, and label cables (Cat5/6, XLR, HDMI, DMX, etc.)
  • Test and troubleshoot installed systems for functionality and performance
  • Work closely with project managers, designers, and fellow technicians
  • Ensure job sites are clean, safe, and organized
  • Occasionally assist with system commissioning and client training

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in AV or low-voltage system installation preferred
  • Familiarity with audio consoles, video switchers, lighting control systems, and DSPs is a plus
  • Ability to read schematics, line diagrams, and floor plans
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in varied construction settings
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CTS, OSHA 10/30, AVIXA, or manufacturer-specific training) are a plus
