Our client, a local distribution company providing natural gas service to approximately two million people in Oregon and Southwest Washington, is looking for a skilled and motivated CIS Developer for their Portland, Oregon location. This hybrid, full-time, direct hire role involves development, technical configuration, and application administration of the Customer Information System (CIS) and associated third-party tools. The candidate will work closely with IT management, business analysts, and development teams to ensure the CIS solution effectively supports business needs. Key Responsibilities for CIS Developer / RPG: Develop, test, build, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain the CIS solution. Gather requirements by working with business analysts to perform gap analyses and document specifications for enhancements and integrations. Ensure successful solution delivery by understanding requirements and providing accurate work estimates. Conduct unit testing and participate in system and user acceptance testing. Collaborate with other developers to expand team expertise. Participate in code reviews and maintain application standards. Engage in the full software development lifecycle using iterative methodologies. Monitor system health, identify, and resolve issues promptly. Support a culture of safe work practices. Requirements/Qualifications for CIS Developer / RPG: Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT systems development and implementation; more for senior levels. Technical knowledge of applications, network design, APIs, middleware, servers, and storage. At least 3 years of experience with RPG development (RPGIV, RPG ILE, RPG Free, SQL ILE), CL/CLLE languages, and working with DB2 and SQL databases. Experience with iSeries security and administration. Strong interpersonal, analytical, technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
