We’re seeking a Marketing and Promotions Coordinator to help elevate our brand, support promotional initiatives, and contribute to the success of our events and community partnerships.

 

Position Overview

The Marketing and Promotions Coordinator will support a range of marketing efforts aimed at increasing readership, advertiser engagement, and event participation. This position is well-suited for a motivated professional with a few years of experience, excellent writing abilities, strong organizational skills, and a desire to contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and edit engaging copy for promotional materials, including print and digital ads, social media posts, newsletters, press releases, and event collateral.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns that promote newspaper subscriptions, advertiser initiatives, special publications, and community events.
  • Partner with the events team to promote and support logistics for live and virtual events — including community forums, expos, and sponsored programs.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of marketing materials and maintain brand consistency across platforms.
  • Monitor and report on marketing campaign performance and suggest optimizations based on insights.
  • Support media partnerships and sponsorship fulfillment by coordinating deliverables and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally with editorial, sales, and circulation teams to align promotional efforts.
  • Represent the company at community events when needed.

 

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools (social media platforms, email marketing, CMS, etc.).
  • Experience supporting events or promotions is a plus.
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
