Job Title: Safety Administrator

Department: Safety & Compliance Location: Shelbyville, TN Reports To: Safety Training Manager

Job Type : Full-Time

Position Overview:

We seek a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Administrator to join our team at Jones Logistics, a trucking and logistics company dedicated to safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The Safety Administrator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the Safety Department, helping ensure that our drivers, equipment, and operations meet all federal, state, and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date Driver Qualification Files (DQFs) in compliance with FMCSA regulations.

· Track and monitor Hours of Service (HOS) and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) data for driver compliance.

· Schedule and coordinate DOT drug and alcohol testing, random testing, post-accident testing, and pre-employment screenings.

· Monitor and update driver Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) and manage CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) scores.

· Assist in accident reporting and investigation, including gathering documentation, preparing reports, and following up on corrective actions.

· Maintain records of all safety-related incidents, vehicle inspections, and violations.

· Help coordinate safety training sessions, driver orientations, and safety meetings.

· Ensure that vehicle inspections, maintenance records, and repair logs are properly filed and in compliance.

· Stay current on DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company policies to ensure ongoing compliance.

· Support internal audits and DOT compliance reviews as needed.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or relevant coursework in safety, transportation, or logistics preferred.

· 1 year of administrative or compliance experience is preferred in the trucking or transportation industry.

· Strong understanding of FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA regulations.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook) and fleet management systems (e.g., Samsara, Omnitracs, KeepTruckin).

· Excellent communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.

· Ability to work independently and handle sensitive and confidential information.

· Attention to detail and strong follow-through on tasks.

Work Environment:

· Office environment with regular interaction with drivers and dispatch.

· Occasional field visits to truck yards or terminals.

· Some after-hours availability may be required during accident investigations or audits.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bilingual in English/Spanish

· Experience with safety audits or DOT inspections

· Knowledge of accident claim handling or insurance procedure
