Job Title: IT Project Manager

Summary:

We're looking for a skilled IT Project Manager with hands-on experience leading infrastructure-focused initiatives and managing vendor relationships. This role requires someone who can think strategically while executing tactically—balancing technical requirements, timelines, and budgets across complex, multi-stakeholder environments. The successful candidate will drive infrastructure implementations from concept through completion, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee infrastructure deployments, particularly those aligned with construction or facilities projects.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules, documentation, and budgets in alignment with industry project management standards.

2. Vendor Coordination:

  • Work closely with third-party providers to support contract development, performance monitoring, and service-level agreement adherence.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and offerings, assisting in selection and oversight to ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality-driven deliverables.
  • Manage vendor communications, mitigating risks and addressing any performance gaps that arise.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as the central liaison for stakeholders from IT, operations, business units, and executive leadership.
  • Provide clear, timely updates on project progress, risks, and changes through meetings, dashboards, and reports.
  • Effectively communicate across technical and non-technical teams, adapting messaging to fit the audience.

4. Risk and Issue Mitigation:

  • Identify project risks and issues early, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate when necessary.
  • Support proactive issue tracking and resolution to avoid delays.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify lessons learned and recommend process improvements.

5. Resource and Financial Oversight:

  • Manage internal team efforts and coordinate with external resources to ensure task alignment and timely execution.
  • Track project spending, analyze variances, and forecast future costs to remain within approved financial parameters.
  • Seek opportunities to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.

6. Quality and Compliance Assurance:

  • Ensure infrastructure solutions meet organizational standards and comply with relevant security and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality checkpoints and perform deliverable reviews to maintain high project standards.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in infrastructure delivery and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in IT project management, especially in infrastructure and/or construction-related environments. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications is a plus.
  • Technical Competency: Knowledge of core infrastructure elements such as networking, server builds, AV systems, and access control technologies. Exposure to construction operations, facility integration, or physical security infrastructure is beneficial.
  • Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with an aptitude for translating technical topics for varied audiences. Collaborative and solution-oriented team leader.
  • Leadership & Execution: Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, lead teams across functions, and successfully deliver projects in fast-paced or evolving settings.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks
  • Experience using enterprise project tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
