Job Description

Cosmic is hiring a freelance marketer. Cosmic is a new website that helps home sewists find great sewing patterns. Our “inspiration search engine” has hundreds of thousands of photos of clothing, all cross-referenced with sewing patterns that anyone can create at home. I (that's me, Alex, the founder) am looking for a part-time marketer to handle influencer outreach and content creation across platforms (Reddit, Tik Tok, Instagram, yada yada). You will work non-dogmatically to test and scale strategies. Your day to day will primarily be the nuts and bolts of marketing: creating campaigns, representing the brand publicly to partners and measuring and reporting on efforts. This is a tiny startup so you should expect to get your hands dirty with all levels of implementation. The role:

1. Work 8-12 hours per week (flexible timing although you should expect at least one phone call on EST per week) with room to expand as the business grows.
2. Scope and implement projects with minimal oversight.
3. Implement campaigns of all types and measure results.
4. Represent the brand publicly to potential partners.
5. Work together with me to brainstorm and implement non-traditional projects.
6. Offer customer support and community management to early users.
7. Research new opportunities and present them to me.

Ideal traits: This is primarily a hands-on job, you should have the grit to do the implementation work yourself and the experience to self-manage.

1. Experience working on self-directed projects in a fast-paced environment (I love startups, agencies and non-traditional backgrounds).
2. Experience with influencer marketing campaigns.
3. An understanding of the PPC advertising ecosystem and campaign creation.
4. Bonus points if you have a creative practice (especially sewing).
5. Bonus points if you have an active online presence.
6. Bonus points for experience in hospitality or sales.
