Fastbraces® vs. Traditional Braces

Straighten Your Smile the Quicker Way

Fastbraces® is a treatment option that can help patients achieve a straighter smile faster than traditional braces. It also involves a much simpler aftercare routine. Dr. Pramod Thomas invites you to learn more about the advantages of Fastbraces®. If you would like to find out if you are a candidate, you can schedule a free consultation to learn more about Fastbraces® vs. traditional braces at his Richardson, TX dental office.

Expedited Treatment Timeline

Dr. Thomas offers both Turbo and Classic Fastbraces®. For the right patient, Turbo Fastbraces® can help you achieve your desired results in as little as 120 days after placement, while Classic Fastbraces® can straighten your smile in about 180 days. When compared to traditional braces, the difference is dramatic. In general, traditional braces take anywhere from one to two years to achieve your end results.

Fastbraces® are designed to simultaneously move the entire tooth, from root to crown, rather than using two separate treatment phases.

This expedited treatment timeline is made possible through modern hardware that starts straightening the roots of the teeth as soon as the braces are placed. In general, ordinary braces would only move the crown, or the area of the teeth above the gum line, during the first phase of treatment, with treatment focusing on root movement during the second phase. In contrast, Fastbraces® can achieve both of these goals at the same time.

State-of-the-Art Materials

While traditional braces use square brackets, Fastbraces® use triangular brackets to increase the space between brackets. This increased area allows for greater flexibility of the wire, resulting in the increased torque necessary to move the entire tooth – from root to crown – at once.

Efficient and Effective

A modernized approach to the basic principles of orthodontics makes it possible to achieve a straightened smile with Fastbraces® in a fraction of the time that traditional braces require.

Post-Treatment Care Plan

Patients who have undergone braces treatment are typically instructed to wear their retainer all day for a few weeks until they can transition into a nightly routine. Following Fastbraces® treatment, Dr. Thomas will recommend that you either wear your retainer every night during sleep (a post-treatment plan referred to as “Teeth Pajamas” or just in the shower, an approach called “Tooth Shampoo”). This post-treatment care is more flexible than the care required with traditional braces.
